Dr. Tilson is Board Certified in Preventive Medicine and Pediatrics and is a Fellow in the American College of Preventive Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She currently provides primary care in the Wake County Human Services Child Health Clinic and is the Medical Director of Community Care of Wake/Johnston Counties; a care management, quality improvement program that is part of the statewide program, Community Care of North Carolina. Her local network encompasses approximately 100 primary care practice sites and 80,000 Medicaid patients.

Robert Freeman brings over 30 years’ experience in industry, academia and consulting in health economics and public policy. He currently serves as Professor, Clinical Effectiveness and Outcomes Research, at Midway College School of Pharmacy in Kentucky. Most recently, he was Professor, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Director of Graduate Studies at Texas A&M Health Science Center, Rangel College of Pharmacy.

He also co-directs the Emory Center on Health Outcomes and Quality. Dr. Thorpe is currently the Executive Director of the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease.

One of the goals during her term as the Minister of Health (2009-2014) is to achieve universal coverage in social health insurance.
