Projected total cost of chronic disease from 2016-2030 in Illinois is $1.6 trillion. In 2015, 7.5 million people in Illinois had at least 1 chronic disease, 3 million had 2 or more chronic diseases. Chronic disease could cost Illinois $77.1 billion in medical costs and an extra $30.7 billion annually in lost employee productivity (average per year 2016-2030).
