Projected total cost of chronic disease from 2016-2030 in California is $4.7 trillion. In 2015, 21.6 million people in California had at least 1 chronic disease, 7.9 million had 2 or more chronic diseases. Chronic disease could cost California $228 billion in medical costs and an extra $88.6 billion annually in lost employee productivity (average per year 2016-2030).
