The Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease Mourns the Loss of Sen. Ted Kennedy, Health Care Champion

The Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease expresses its regrets to see the passing of U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy, a long time advocate for improving the quality and access to health care in the U.S. and a strong supporter of comprehensive health reform legislation this year.

"Senator Kennedy served as a national leader and health reform advocate for almost 50 years, championing health care reform in a bi-partisan manner since his early days in Congress," said Ken Thorpe, Ph.D., PFCD Executive Director. "Improving the health - and lives - of all Americans was Senator Kennedy's mission in Congress and in life and his leadership, knowledge and passion for this charge will surely be missed."

"As Congress continues the health care reform discussion without its great leader, we hope they will reflect on the values that led Senator Kennedy in his mission to provide quality, affordable health care to all Americans."
